Transportation from Taoyuan International Airport to Taipei

Taoyuan International Airport (IATA: TPE) is the international airport serving Taipei and the primary international hub in Taiwan. It should be noted that there are two terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, in Taoyuan, and attendees should make note of their arrival and departure Terminals and arrange transportation accordingly.

Taoyuan is located some 40km outside of Taipei, and is connected via metro trains and other public transports. Please find below a selection of public transportation options available to the main transportation hubs in Taipei. More information is available via the respective websites.

．Taoyuan Airport Metro

Both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 have express and commuter metro trains to Taipei main station. Both operate at approximately 7.5-minute intervals starting from 6:00AM to 12:00AM.

Fare: NT$160/person for express and commuter metro trains

Journey Time: Approx. 39 minutes for express metro train, and 53 minutes for commuter metro trains (to Taipei Main Station). At the train station, take the Red Line Metro to the Yuanshan Station. Please see Hotel Shuttle below for more information.

．Hotel Shuttle from MRT station

If the attendee is staying at The Grand Hotel, there is a shuttle departing approximately every 20-30 minutes directly from and to the MRT Red Line Yuanshan Station.

．Bus

Several buses are available from Taoyuan to Taipei, and attendees are advised to look for bus routes that suit their accommodation locations. Fares typically range around NT$ 164,
though this can vary depending on the bus company and time of day. The journey to Taipei
Main Bus Station takes between 50 and 90 minutes, with buses departing every 20 to 30
minutes from the terminals.

．CitiAir Bus

CitiAir Bus (#1961) takes you from Taoyuan Airport to The Grand Hotel. Fares are NT$135.
The time is approx. 90 minutes to The Grand Hotel. The bus departs Taoyuan Airport 3 times per day at 7:30 am, 11:35 am and 15:35 pm. The bus ticket can be purchased at the CitiAir Bus desk inside the Terminals.

．Taxi

Standard taxis are available at the arrival halls from both Terminal 1 and 2. Fares are meter based and not inclusive of any tolls, and so may vary depending on traffic and other conditions. Generally, fares from the airport are between NT$1,200 and NT$1,500. Taxis may be ordered at a taxi counter inside the terminals.
